about

As they queue up for the Drive-In, the tension builds until The Spirit swoops down in the form of a bird, to try and save The Signaller. Toxin shoots John as he tries to escape, but strangely no body is ever found. The Spirit takes John's hands and lifts him up into the air. She's realised John genuinely wants to leave The Machine. They both fly away, both taking the form of birds.

lyrics

Escape from the Drive-In (Lyrics and Music: Tim Hunter)

We’re going for a ride in my open top car
We’re going to the drive-in – it ain’t that far
We’re in the Drive in Lobotomy queue
And today we’re going to neutralise you
There’s ain’t no way to escape your fate
Just sit back, relax and wait
Would you like a French Fry? Signaller: No thanks
You shouldn’t have long to wait now
Would you like to hear some Prog Rock while we wait perhaps? Signaller: No thankyou
OK its your turn next boy!
Spirit: Take my hand, let’s fly way, so far away,
Signaller: I must be dreaming
so far away, from here
